The first chain of fair trade espresso bars
is an initiative of NovoTRADE and four organizations of small coffee farmers
in Central and South America. The pilot store of this future chain of fair
trade espresso bars opened its doors in Rotterdam in January 1999. Come
and take a look in Rotterdam, and try our high quality coffees. For instance,
our house blend, Café Amigos, or our Peru Orgánico, a surprising
organic coffee from the Peruvian highlands.
is located in Rotterdam, in the modern office area south of where the river
Maas divides Rotterdam into two parts. Find us at Wilhelminaplein
41, under the glass roof that unites the office buildings of the Wilhelminahof.
is right at the main exit of the Wilhelminaplein metro station.
Development opportunities through an innovative commercial relationship
is a unique example of an innovative commercial alliance between small
farmers in the South and entrepreneurs in the North. Through their participation
these small farmers become active players in the market, not only as coffee
suppliers, but also as entrepreneurs. As shareholders, retaining 40% of
the shares, they gain a say in the company and access to future profits.

The basic philosophy of

is part of and on which it relies. In practice this philosophy means a
respectful attitude towards all the stakeholders involved in whatever way
in the company and its activities.
